Ecotourism Australia’s Certified Operators Shine at Awards

Award season is upon us and Ecotourism Australia is very excited to celebrate the achievements of Certified operators.

The Ugly Duck Out of SWANSEA has won the prestigious “Ricoh Business Centre Hobart Environment and Sustainability Award” in the 2012 Community Achievement Awards. The Ugly Duck Out won the Award from a strong field of nominees and was one of eight category winners announced on Saturday 20 October at Hotel Grand Chancellor Hobart.

The Ugly Duck Out is Climate Action Innovator Certified.

Tony’s Tropical Tours won the ”Best Daintree Tour” at the Port Douglas Business Awards. This is the third consecutive win for Tony’s Tropical Tours in this category.

Tony’s Tropical Tours is Advanced Ecotourism Certified.

Announced by The Tourism Industry Council of NSW, Ecotourism Australia’s Certified operators made the list of finalists for the highly contested 2012 NSW Tourism Awards, which celebrate outstanding achievements in tourism.

Hundreds of tourism businesses across the state entered the annual competition with hopes of winning one of the 31 categories, ranging from Major Tourism Attractions right through to Ecotourism and the new Local Government Award for Tourism.
