National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) has recently achieved Advanced Ecotourism Certified.
National Outdoor Leadership School is a wilderness education school offering expedition length courses. Since 1996 they have concentrated their explorations from Broome to northwestern Australia, in places like the Kimberley and the Pilbara that are characterised by dramatic landscapes and intense colors, vast plains, ancient mountains, huge tidal rivers, and breathtaking gorges.
The business has been awarded Advanced Ecotourism for their Outdoor Leadership Expeditions. Expedition leadership is defined as situationally appropriate action that directs or guides their group to set and achieve goals. Great leaders create an environment that inspires individuals and groups to achieve their full potential.
The National Outdoor Leadership School adopt an approach of improving the environment they work in through their leave no trace policy for camping and resource protection. Their training courses provide skills in animal and plant identification, astronomy, weather, geology, understanding of regional environmental issues and local concerns of land management agencies.
